What exactly do you do? What does your typical day look like?
Like many others, I start my day in a fairly classic way – checking emails and seeing if any important or urgent matters have come in. I also review whether any meetings are scheduled for the day, so I can prepare the meeting rooms. After that, the day becomes quite varied. Due to my dual role as an HR assistant and support staff in the secretariat, my daily routine is naturally very diverse. It ranges from organizing tradespeople to managing and reordering office supplies. Our company cars also fall under my responsibility – for instance, I take care of scheduling necessary service appointments. The HR side of my role also involves a wide range of tasks: from organizing incoming applications and handling ongoing administrative work in HR, to preparing documents and equipment for new colleagues.
What makes your daily work at haude electronica special?
This might sound funny, but I really like that even though I have an office job, I still get to move around a lot. I walk new team members through the office and show them everything, accompany tradespeople around the premises, and regularly go to our external storage space to keep things organized. Another big plus is the extremely supportive environment. At the beginning of my apprenticeship, I found it challenging to deal with many different computer programs. However, the support from my colleagues was tremendous – I always felt well looked after and could ask anyone for help.
What is your favourite place in the office?
Definitely my workspace. I feel comfortable here, and the calm working environment helps me focus on my tasks. I also really like that I sit right next to a window – it’s nice and bright, and I can always get fresh air whenever I want. 😉
What is your “happy place” after work? How and where do you relax?
After work, I go home to my family. My wife and I sit down together, have a cup of tea, and talk about our day. We often take a walk along the Danube with our young daughter and then wind down the evening together with a nice movie on the couch.
We enjoy cooking for a good cause at the company. What do you like to eat most?
One thing I discovered at our charity cooking events in recent yeas is Kaspressknödel soup. A colleague prepared it, and I immediately fell in love with it. 😉 Another dish I could eat all the time is Ghormeh Sabzi. It’s a traditional stew from Persian cuisine. It can be prepared in different ways – with various types of meat, vegetables, and herbs. Simply put, it’s meat with vegetables and rice – but prepared in a special way and truly a burst of flavour. 😊
Who would you like to work with someday – whether it’s a colleague from another department or a superstar – and why?
The first person that comes to mind is Denzel Washington. I admire him not only as an actor but also as a person. He has an incredible presence – both on screen and in interviews. I think you can learn a lot from him about focus, discipline and charisma. He also seems to be someone who works extremely professionally while still maintaining a sense of humour – a combination I find important in everyday work as well.
Which app on your phone could you never live without?
That would be WhatsApp. I used this app to stay in touch with my wife when she was in Iran, and it helped us maintain our connection. I also have many friends who live farther away, and I’m constantly messaging with them. WhatsApp makes it easy for me to stay in contact with everyone who matters to me, which is why I wouldn’t want to be without it.
